4D3N BKK Trip- Day 2
Our outfit of the day :)
After the fulfilling dinner we had! It's time to end the day again! We always take turns to carry the bag and keys! Today it's my turn and that's why I'm opening to door! hahahhaDay 2 at BKK, we woke up at 8, prepared ourself and had our breakfast in the hotel. The food was acceptable. It was just a 3 stars hotel so I didn't expect much. But the varieties of the food was in adequate amount.
After our breakfast, we went over to Chatuchak. We refuse to take tuktuk initially because I know they will charge you high if they know you are first timer at Bkk and even wanted to bring you all over to those jewellery stores in order for them to have a free petroleum coupon top up or commission if anyone they bring purchase any items.
However, the cab refuse to on their meter-.- and charge us as high as 200 baht. Of course we wouldn't want, and continue waiting for the next tuktuk or cab. Finally there's a tuk tuk driver who is willing to bring us to Chatuchak at 80baht(after nego), and I even told him I want it to be a one-way trip, no other place to drop and so he agreed. We took the tuk tuk and halfway through the journey he scammed us and even bring us to the jewellery store and even threatened us if we don agree to go, he will just leave us at a unknown place-.- No choice, and we decided to go along but with the same fare - 80 bhat.

Honestly, the jewel they sell was pretty and nice. They have certificates and all but we didn't purchase any of it! This is so waste of time as they wanted us to enter into some rooms and listen to their speech of how to differentiate the authenticity of stones. We manage to skip through as I told the person it wasn't my first trip, we sneaked in together with the first group of tourist before us to the actual sales area. After walking around, we went back to our tuk tuk and he finally send us to Chatuchak!
Once you drop off from Jatuchak or chatuchak(it's the same area), you will see a very pasar-malam lookalike scene.
How old school is this to see such feather duster !
In the middle I think? hahahah.
Interior of the place.
Chatuchak is damn huge. We spent a few hours shopping in the district and yet didn't manage to finish everything. We start sourcing for everything we want and manage to bought quite a few items.
I saw many food stall like this. Was tempted to try! hahaha
This cute lil moo-moo. Mascot for one of the milk brand!
Our loots while in the tuk tuk!
Their coconut was fcuking sweet and tender! I was trying my best to dig out the flesh! I know it sound gross. but it was damn niceeeeee!

After hours of shopping, we decided to switch place to pratunam market. We wanted to get a new luggage as we only bring 1 small one and obviously it wasn't enough. MBK and Siam doesn't have cheap ones so we also decided to try our luck at Chatuchak, however still no, the price was too high already (in terms of Thai currency). So we went to pratunam to get it instead! Took a tuk tuk and cab back
Finally we reached pratunam market, but we wasn't that satisfied with our shopping and decided to have more shopping at Platinum mall which is just directly opposite pratunam market before purchasing our luggage.
Done with the shopping at Platinum mall, walked back to Pratunam market. Hmm the first impression of the pratuname wasn't that impressive. It looks old and squeezy. But no doubts, they so sell alot of cheaps deals. Inside pratunam there are many store selling this! (pic below)Those uniforms are less than 400 baht, which is less than $16.50 SGD before bargaining the price. I could roughly rmb because I asked out of curiosity.
We went down the whole stretch of pratunam to check the pricing. We set our budget and spends hours to source and nego the best price for our budget. 1200 baht per luggage is the final price we get! From 2500 baht per luggage we nego till 1200 baht which is $49 SGD thereabout. The quality is worth the price of $49, as at Singapore the price of a similar luggage we purchase would be $98+ to $128 SGD, regards of materal and size! The price should be quite accurate as I check around in Singapore before going bkk! Finally we reached pratunam market, but we wasn't that satisfied with our shopping and decided to have more shopping at Platinum mall which is just directly opposite pratunam market before purchasing our luggage.

The weather at Bkk was crazy at that time, I guess it was their monsoon season? The weather was hot and scorching in the morning and noon, rainy days on the evening till late night-.- Right after we purchase the luggage, we place all our loots into it and quickly ran to a nearby Hotel to flag for a taxi. I was negotiating the price of the journey back to our hotel! It was actually a short distant, but due to the rain many cab refuse give a good pricing and thus it was decide on about 150 baht :(
Our tired face while waiting of cab
We bought the same design of luggage at the same place with the same price. I took the black one because no more stock is left for silver. Yvonne took the last one :) Brought our luggage back to hotel, rest for awhile and settled our dinner at Tom Yum Restaurant after our heavenly massage!
We got back the same lady who helped me the previous night, her skills was excellent and she was very nice to us. Tipped her almost every night when we went to have our massage done!

The ginger tea that they always serve after massage! if you realise the picture of me looks a bit oily and sticky. That's because we had aroma oil massage instead of the traditional Thai massage. Wasn't that used to oil massage and kinda prefer the traditional one. Each session of the massage cost about 200 baht to 300 baht, depend on the types of massage we choose.

My loots for the day! But sadly, I can't wear the denim shorts I bought at Chatuchak. The size is too small for me :(
